Love the Skin you're in!
Tips for maintaining healthy skin:
1. Water. I cannot stress the importance of drinking water. Drinking at least 8-10 glasses a day will help rid the body and skin of toxins. Water makes a difference in your skins health. Yeah you might be thinking "Do you drink as much water as you're telling me?" The answer is "Yes and No" I have my days where I don't drink as much as I should , overall I'm pretty consistent. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight and flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling. Water plumps up the skin, causing wrinkles and pores to, more or less, get filled in. When skin is hydrated, plump, and elastic, it’s less likely to crack and let in external particles that can cause irritations and blemishes.
2.Clean Skin. It's important to keep your skin clean and hydrated. First determine your skin type. Sensitive, dry, combination or oily? When you can recognize this in your skin it will help you make sure to get the right products. What kind of products do I need? Let's get down to the basics. Use a simple facial cleanser two a day. In the morning and before you go to sleep. If your skin is dry, you want to make sure the cleanser is moisturizing and hydrating on the skin. A foaming, gel or lotion cleanser with the correct pH balance could be perfect for combination to dry skin types. For oily skin, choose a deep cleansing method designed for oily skin types. These help to slow down the production of oil.
3. Moisturize. The job of a moisturizer is to attract moisture and to protect the skin on your face by forming a barrier that holds in the water that's already there. By using a moisturizer, you can stop your skin from losing its hydration and allow it to put the moisture it does have to good use. A good moisturizer will keep your skin hydrated and will allow best application for makeup!
4.Facials. In between your daily cleanse and moisturize routine it's good to treat your skin to a facial. Facials are a good way to take care of your skin and improve your skins health and appearance. Facials are a treatment for the face that's meant to cleanse, firm, smooth and moisturize the skin. A facial cleans, exfoliates and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion. You can enjoy a facial in the comfort of your home with store bought products or diy home made ingredients or you can visit your local spa.
When you become consistent to this basic routine you will begin to notice an improvement in your skins appearance as well as your overall health. Take care of yourself and love the skin you're in!
